At The Southerly Warehouse, we love being a part of each bride’s big day. From the first look and the first kiss to the send off of the newlyweds- it is such a privilege to host our beautiful brides and their families! What is even more special is the opportunity to host a bride who is one of our dear friends.
In December, Kara and Logan tied the knot in our classic Chandelier Room. Their winter wedding included hues of deep blues and golds.
Kara and her ladies enjoyed their morning getting ready and spending the day in our bridal suite.
Kara chose to do a first look with Logan prior to the ceremony. The upstairs of our Bless You Building event space was the perfect setting with ample natural light for their first look.
Julia's Pro Tip: Having a first look makes for timeless photos and memories. Choosing to have pre-ceremony photos done works well as hair and makeup is at its best for both the bride and her bridal party. In addition, outdoor photos can be taken in bright natural light that may not exist post ceremony (depending on your timeline).
While a first look is non-traditional, it is becoming very popular amongst modern brides. Having pre-ceremony photos captured allows the bride and groom to avoid rushed post-ceremony pictures. This trend is growing quickly and we love how Kara and Logan’s pre-ceremony photos turned out!
Kara and Logan had their ceremony in our Chandelier Room. Shanika with Sleek Designs styled the aisle with floating candles and the altar with rustic lanterns. Local designers created the custom arch.
Kara's custom altar featured a real branch arch with tallow-berry stems and LED lights. The romantic arch was the perfect compliment to their winter wedding.
The navy and gold hues with pops of green were just right for this beautiful winter wedding. Did I mention that it actually snowed in Alabama the morning of their wedding day? How many people can say it snowed on their wedding day in Alabama?
The reception immediately followed the sweet ceremony in our Garage Room. Dining tables were placed around the dance floor.
DJ K-Touch kept the music going and the crowd involved the entire night.
Guests enjoyed a night full of fun and dancing!
Kara and Logan’s guests had a great time on the dance floor! We loved their reception layout. Having the dining tables up close and personal to the dance floor made for an intimate setting.
After dancing the night away, the bride and groom were sent off with sparklers.
The bride and groom exited in style in our outdoor courtyarad surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Thank you again to Mr. & Mrs. Baird for letting us be a part of your special day. The Southerly wishes you both a lifetime of bliss and happiness!
always more to come!
